Save the Children in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been supporting and participating in the national response to try and contain the spread of COVID-19. Since April 2020, Save the Children teams have distributed IPC kits in health facilities around the country.
In Kinshasa, Save the Children is assisting the Ministry of Public Health for the COVID-19’s response, ensuring that health facilities reach and maintain an adequate level of preparedness and response capacity to the COVID-19 epidemic.
To do so, Save the Children distributed individual kits (more than 3000 items) in 20 health units and 7 health zones supported by SCI (Ndjili, Kimbanseke, Masina 1 and 2, Kingasani, Biyela, Kikimi). Equipment’s were made temporary available in 20 health facilities with 20 tables, 60 chairs, 20 umbrellas and 20 termoflashes.
