A drone image of the the Al-Ridhwan cemetery in Aden, Yemen. Before the pandemic the cemetery was around 40% full, and now it is full. Gravediggers say that before the pandemic around seven funerals took place per day, but in June it was between 70 and 100 per day.
The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine later analysed satellite footage from Aden and estimated that there had been a 60% increase in the number of deaths between April and September 2020.
